Principal’s Message

Greetings!
I am excited to welcome back our amazing scholars, dedicated families, and passionate staff as we begin another year of purpose, progress, and possibility! This year, we are guided by our theme “On a Safari to Success! Into the Wild: Growing, Learning, Leading”. We are embracing the adventure of education with boldness, resilience, and joy.
A safari is not just a journey through the wilderness, it’s a purposeful expedition, filled with exploration, discovery, and growth. At Phillis Wheatley, we are stepping into the wild with clear direction, unshakable commitment, and a shared vision for success. We are growing minds, nurturing leaders, and building lifelong learners ready to face the future with confidence.
This year, we are committed to changing the narrative. We refuse to let past challenges define our future. Instead, we are writing a new story filled with academic growth, strong relationships, and high expectations. With a continued focus on excellence, we are working to elevate every learner and ensure every scholar has access to the opportunities they deserve.
At Phillis Wheatley Elementary, we believe in the greatness within every child. Our educators are focused on creating a safe, inclusive, and engaging environment where scholars are not only challenged but celebrated. As we venture “into the wild,” we will lean on each other, push through obstacles, and uncover new strengths, together.
I invite our families and community to join us on this journey. Your partnership is key to our continued growth, and together, we will lead our scholars toward success. I look forward to a year of growing, learning, and leading on our Safari to Success!
Best Regards,
Tabitha Brown
